Work does stand in the way of blogging sometimes, but believe it or not… we’re back! We don’t promise to be updating the blog on a daily basis, but we’ll do our best to update it several times a week.
Today we will be sharing with you how to add subtitles to movies you download from the internet. Most of the movies we download don’t usually have any subtitles, and the reason is that you can simply choose any subtitles language you want and add it to your movie in few easy steps. Here’s how to do it.
- Search a subtitle search engine for the subtitle language you want (we recommend SubScene)
- Make sure to unzip the file you downloaded, you should get a file of the extension .srt
- Copy that .srt file to where your downloaded move is located and rename it exactly ad your movie file but keep the .srt extension.
Suppose you downloaded the movie file “Meet the spartans.avi”, then you should rename your .srt file to “Meet the spartans.srt” - Play the movie file in your favorite media player, and it will automatically include the subtitles. We tries Windows Media Player, VLC Player, and Winamp. They all did it.

Horrrayyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!!!
What a great trick! Thanks. I’m in the process of rolling out a video based site. This will certainly add something to the vids.
Thanks!
This would do a fair amount for someone that was interested in making use of informational videos on their site. They could add in subtitles about the actions that were occurring in a how-to video, for example, and people could read the subtitles if they wanted to have sound off during the video. Subtitles also help to send the message that a video creator wants to send.
